"Panelite" is a laminated panel using S class expanded polystyrene (E.P.S.) as a core. S class polystyrene has a fire retarding additive and will not carry flame. When tested in accordance with A.S.1530, part 3,1982, on the spread of flame index (0-10) the material was rated "0", (source: E.P.S. AWTA test report No. 9.96156)

E.P.S. is expanded polystyrene, a downstream petrochemical product from styrene monomer, which in turn is made from benzine and ethylene in a weight ratio of three parts to one. Expanded polystyrene consists of in excess of 96% air and is therefore an excellent, lightweight insulation material.
"Panelite" can be manufactured in a variety of sizes but is commonly 1200mm wide and any common length up to 6 metres. It can be tapered on the edges and can be fixed and finished the same as plasterboard.
